Tasks and assignment for Graphic design 1
The first real week of my graphic design study was dominated by me moving to a new apartment.. So the progress has not been what I hoped it would be, but I am now settled in and very (very!) comfortable, so I have a lot more time in the coming week.
What I did do, was go through all the lessons (twice), get an overview of the tasks and assignments, get my WP page for this course up and running, and finish the first task. I also went on a study trip to a book store to have a look at the crime novel cover illustrations, as preparation for the course assignment.

Alien jelly fish illustration made by me from Photoshop tutorial (task 1)
I really enjoyed the Photoshop tutorial. I don’t think I would have made the same choices as the instructor (I don’t like the tent!), but I learned a lot, and I really liked placing the galaxy effect inside the jelly fish.
I am very excited for next week and the coming Photoshop tutorials. I find the program very confusing (and quite frustrating) but so much fun.
Other things on my mind this week:
I finished Still Pictures – On Photography and Memory by the journalist Janet Malcom (2023). It is a sort of autobiographical essay collection, where each essay is based on a photograph. I enjoyed the idea more than the actual book.
I signed up for a digital drawing course at the Royal Drawing School in May. It is a five week online course, and I am really looking forward to it. I want to improve my drawing skills.
