The first real week of my graphic design study was dominated by me moving to a new apartment.. So the progress has not been what I hoped it would be, but I am now settled in and very (very!) comfortable, so I have a lot more time in the coming week.

Alien jelly fish illustration made by me from Photoshop tutorial (task 1)

I really enjoyed the Photoshop tutorial. I don’t think I would have made the same choices as the instructor (I don’t like the tent!), but I learned a lot, and I really liked placing the galaxy effect inside the jelly fish.

I am very excited for next week and the coming Photoshop tutorials. I find the program very confusing (and quite frustrating) but so much fun.

Other things on my mind this week:

I finished Still Pictures – On Photography and Memory by the journalist Janet Malcom (2023). It is a sort of autobiographical essay collection, where each essay is based on a photograph. I enjoyed the idea more than the actual book.

I signed up for a digital drawing course at the Royal Drawing School in May. It is a five week online course, and I am really looking forward to it. I want to improve my drawing skills.
